I am currently a gestational carrier for a great couple. We are expecting the baby in June. What I want everyone to know is that surrogacy although fulfilling is a lot of work. The IVF cycle is tough, daily injections of painful hormones and mid cycle up to 3 injections. Plus all of the emotional ups and downs that come w/ the hormones. Then comes pregnancy - a 24 hour/day exhausting job.
Physically I have not been myself since the hormones started. Surrogates are not in this for the money or because they are "hard up". I am a full-time professional, married for 15 years w/ 3 great kids of my own. I feel I was blessed to be able to get pregnant so easily and have relatively easy pregnancies and text book labors. Sharing this gift to complete another family is part of my gift to the world!
